Crafting Blackstar Weapons
From this point on, your objective will be to complete Calpheon and Mediah main story questlines to obtain the knowledge “The Three Legendary Blacksmiths of Mediah” in order to craft your Blackstar weapons. This can be obtained by completing a short questline. Press “O” to open your quest log, then the “Suggested” tab. You will then find the questline “[Lv. 51] Mediah: The Legendary Blacksmith”, which starts with Tulem, the arms dealer in Altinova.

1.1 FREE PEN BLACKSTAR WEAPON All players can obtain 1 free PEN (V) Blackstar weapon of their choice. These rewards are each available once per family and have the following requirements:
Reach level 61+ with your character Complete one of the following: Simplified Main Questline Main Questline up to Mediah Mountain of Eternal Winter Main Questline Land of the Morning Light Main Questline
The weapon box can then be obtained from your (Y) Challenge Rewards.
1.2 BLACKSTAR ARMOR (NOT RECOMMENDED) Blackstar Armors are not recommended due to them being much more difficult to enhance. It is much easier and more obtainable to get a PEN boss armor and put caphras levels into it for immediate gains. Blackstar Armor can be upgraded (like caphras levels) using the Serendia Elvia materials, but these cannot be bought from the market and require hundreds of grinding yourself. In addition, you need a PEN Blackstar Armor to upgrade to Fallen God/Labreska (best in slot armors), which is far more difficult than needing a PEN Boss armor with level 10 caphras.
1.3 GODR-AYED WEAPON (NOT RECOMMENDED) Godr-Ayed weapons were released as an alternative to Blackstar weapons. However, our guide will not cover information about them, since after the implementation of Sovereign weapons they have become useless. Additionally, Godr-Ayed weapons are extremely difficult to enhance, making them basically a "noob trap." Once you have everything you need, you can start the questline by right-clicking the Remnants of the Rift item. Take the Remnants of the Rift item to Martha Kiyen located at Northern Wheat Plantation to begin.
